Today, electronics is the largest and fastest growing manufacturing industry in the world. Current global hardware production is around USD 1.75 trillion and by 2020 it is going to grow up to USD 2.4 trillion. On the domestic front, electronic driven industry has emerged as the contributor to national economy and education .

Aakash Tablets  -The world's cheapest tablet 

Aakash is a low-cost tablet PC. The world's cheapest tablet PC was launched in 2011 . Aakash 2 is the upgraded version of the tablet.

It will be free in the hands of every student in India. The current cost of Aakash is nearly  Rs 3000 .Half of cost would be subsidized by the Government of India (GOI) ,the remaining amount can be funded by educational institutions.

It will be utilized for accessing e-content . It had played a major role in taking IT to the masses

Problem will be vendor management , it depend upon a single vendor and if materials are not ready in time they are not provide the product  in time.


Raspberry Pi Linux computer

-is set to become available for purchase for $35. The single-board computer is equipped with a 700MHz processor, 256MB of RAM, SD card support and both HDMI and RCA outputs.

Despite the low cost and small size — which is roughly equal to a credit card — the Raspberry Pi computer is powerful enough to run games such as Quake III Arena and power 1080p video, however the company intends for the device to be used in schools to teach the basics of computer science.
