In India there is rising demand for technology tools that provide information to voters and help politicians reach out to middle-class voters. What Political Parties Think about Social Media
"Social media is one of the top five game changers we will see in this election," said Arvind Gupta, national head of the IT cell of BJP. "We work with a lot of startups and have developed our patented technologies as well," said Gupta.(Wow)

A friend , who is doing research on Social Networking domain asked my opinions on the the gaining popularity of Indian political parties in these social networking sites and the extent of control that they had on one’s online behavior and how it can be controlled by new policies of social networking sites ?
I told him , " As per the policy documents ,most of them offer the freedom of expression ,then why do we require a regulatory mechanism in social networking sites " ?
He replied ,"Prem , Actually social media had gained both prominence and power in daily life so you need to approach the same with care. Self-censorship of individuals was necessary to avoid abuse of freedom of speech . We have to draw the line between Free Speech and Hate Speech ... Same time ,In India , social media misused for spreading fake news /rumors and hate speeches "
He explained the importance of ‘analysis’ to any information. Lack of proper analysis of information was the reason why people could get manipulated by fake/rumor facebook posts . We should always analyze and try to understand the reasons behind it. or you can google it before sharing any information . According to him it was easy to spread false information online because of the breakdown of journalistic ethics due to lack of insistence on credibility of sources as well as ease of anonymity and rogue journalism
